It goes without saying but this years’ holidays will have a different feel than the previous. 2020 has truly set a tone all over the world however, families continue to keep traditions alive and adopt new trends along the way.
This year's trends include using smaller quaint trees, moving stockings closer together, and tying in some unconventional styles with wreaths. As for tradition, the pops of red, piney garland, and hot cocoa are always staples for the holidays.
Big trees stand out, make a statement and are an obvious way to command attention, but how do you blend it with the rest of the room? We love using smaller counterparts in the same room to help tie a space together. The smaller minimalist tree is a great accent piece for the whole home. With smaller trees, it wouldn’t be overwhelming to place one in every other room!
We don’t know who came up with the idea but switching it up every once in a while isn't a bad thing. 2020 switched everything up if you know what I mean. This year we have stockings closer together, bunched up. Maybe it's a symbol of us sticking together during these times. Lastly, wreaths...the farmhouse style hasn't seemed to lose its trend and the wreaths are included. More minimalist ‘woodsy’ looks have developed this year and it's quite cute. Wreaths are one of those items you really can't go wrong with and everyone can get a creative fix.
Of course, you can't sit around a fire or watch the traditional Christmas Story without some hot cocoa in hand. This probably will never die out, even if you’re on a health kick! Pops of read and the pine scent throughout is always an indicator of the cheerful season in action. In all, we love the holidays and seeing everyone’s creative touch to their home. Happy Holidays!
